Regular maintenance is imperative when it comes to making sure a residential roof system is performing as it should, according to the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA). All too often, problems are found after leaking or other serious damage is witnessed, NRCA said. The association points to biannual inspections as a way to uncover cracked, warped, or missing shingles; loose seams and deteriorated flashings; excessive surface granules accumulating in the gutters or downspouts; and other visible signs of problems.
