There are 3 levels of an inspector license Apprentice Inspector, Real Estate
Inspector and Professional Real Estate

Note- In order to be licensed as a Professional Real Estate Inspector with substitute experience and education, one must take 154 hours in Texas inspector modules and 40 hours in Texas Practicum. Please see the Texas website for specific requirements of the other levels of an inspector license.
Texas Licensure: The Texas Occupations Code, Title 7, Subtitle A., Chapter 1102 provides for general provisions of home inspectors and establised experience and education requirements. The law also requires that apprentice inspectors work under the supervision of a licensed Professional Real Estate Inspector. If an applicant is unable to obtain an apprenticeship, educational course work and a Texas Practicum can be substituted. Home inspectors are regulated by the Texas Real Estate Commission.
