History of ASHI
The American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) was founded in 1976 when a group of visionary home inspectors came together in pursuit of two goals. The first goal to increase consumer awareness about this relatively new occupation and demonstrate the value that an inspection provided to these homebuyers. The second goal was to enhance the overall professionalism in this field of work to cement its relevance within the real estate market. For more than 45 years, ASHI has committed to reaching these goals and continually leads the home inspection industry to create opportunities for home inspectors across the nation.
